By the middle to late 1800’s there were already fifteen chair manufactories: Heywood Brothers & Co., Conant, Ball & Co., S. Bent & Bros and P Derby & Co. to name a few. Gardner business was booming. Buildings were going up as fast as chairs were being built. More and more companies were being established. In the middle of the 1800s the Irish, French-Canadian and Jewish populations began to rise. Gardner’s furniture became well known.

Gardner Furniture is a privately held company with facilities in Gardner, MA and Bangkok, Thailand. Combining all the facilities with direct and secondary employees we have nearly 1000. The founder T. Chen came to Gardner to blend his knowledge of art and trade, with the assistance of design and manufacturing from "Chair City" to bring the world finest director chair constructed.

Since our incorporation in 1995 and acquisition of Yankee Woodworkers Corp. in 1998 we have grown significantly and are proud of our position as an industry leader in director chairs and home accent furniture. By combining the management of both companies, continuity of mission, commitment to personal service, and product innovation was enhanced.
